A BIT ABOUT ME

I spend my first few years in the Jacaranda city, Pretoria. Even after we moved, I still recall the good memories I collected in those first few years of my life. We moved to Krugersdorp in a time when neighbours still knew each other’s names and technology had not yet taken over the world. My three younger siblings and I understood the meaning of life lessons, family and choices in those years. By my late teens we moved once again and settled in the small-town of Westonaria. I went off to college to educate myself in the art of hairdressing and there my career of almost forty years as a hairdresser started.  
I got married at a young age and even though it did not turn out to be forever, I am blessed with two beautiful children from the marriage. That part of my life reminded me of my inner strength and that no person can ever steal the flame that burns within.
I never thought I would get married again, but fate had a different idea and I met the most wonderful man, with beautiful eyes and an intriguing honesty within. We are almost celebrating our twenty-year wedding anniversary and are sure to celebrate twenty more after that.
Colour and faith have always been part of my journey and manifested in my paintings. My paintings are the words I use to call out to the world. I convey hope, meaning and strength in each stroke of the paint brush in my hand. It is where my heart intertwines with the Spirit of God and I become an instrument in the glorious Hands who painted the universe.
