INSPIRATION
SPIRIT OF GOD
My faith has carried me through times of sorrow, times of joy and all those times in between. Sometimes I just do a painting, because it is feels good inside, and as I work on it, it is as if the Spirit of God meets my heart. Sometimes it almost feels like through my dreams God has allowed me to speak with visual images and paintings. When I just feel like painting something, I know for sure that the people who see it will receive a message of comfort or confirmation. When someone asks me to do a painting for them, I see it as a sign, an opportunity to be used by God. Â There are all these beautiful things in life waiting to be realised, sometimes we must go through more difficult things to see the exquisiteness still undiscovered.
COLOUR
Colour plays a big part in my work. I've learned quite a bit about the spiritual and symbolic meaning of colours, it influences the way in which I think about the colours I use. Usually I get a feeling that is hard to describe, but I can match to a specific colour. If I am not sure about the full meaning of a colour, I will read a book that I have about the prophetic meaning of colours, (very interesting by the way). If I see what the meaning of silver is for example, the silver pot in one of my paintings, I can recall the appropriate symbolic meaning, it refers to the Word that speaks of when we go through a 'refining fire', like a test (or difficult circumstances). A very colourful painting like the pot full of roses tells someone there are inadmissible possibilities of new beautiful things waiting to be discovered in their world.
